What happens when three perfectionists spend three and a half years recording and re-recording hundreds of loops, mixing and matching riffs, rhythms, and melodies in hopes that it will eventually amount to an album that they can be proud of? Chances are, their moms are less than pleased that they’ve stopped returning their calls, and their friends have already found people to take their places on bowling night.

Well, that’s exactly what the guys of Menomena did, and it was totally worth it.

Menomena’s fourth album, Mines, is set to be released next week (7/27), but you can stream the full album below courtesy of NPR Music’s “First Listen“.

While it’s not the kind of thing you’ll hear us spinning at, say, our Ella party tomorrow night, Mines teems with sounds that will take that raging hangover of yours, kiss it, and make it all better.
