MUSTache see guide for SXSW Music 2010

When you’re people like us, and you rep mustaches like we do, you have no choice but to show a little extra love to other people who are part of the mustache club.

So, in honor of our hair upper lips and tattooed pointer fingers we’ve put together a guide of our (in no particular order) must see mustachioed artists at SXSW.

TOBACCO

Anticon Records‘ DJ-VJ Tobacco (of Black Moth Super Rainbow) makes some sweet beats to go with his sweet stache.

His trippy videos which he incorporates into his live set make him a MUSTache see (and not just hear) artist this year.

MARIACHI EL BRONX

In case you live under a rock, The Bronx have a Mariachi side project.

I don’t think it can really get better than this … expecially because Mariachi El Bronx is actually mas bueno.

YOU SAY PARTY! WE SAY DIE!

Our Canadian buds, You Say Party! We Say Die!’s drummer Devon Clifford rocks his mustache as hard as his band rocks their electro rock sound.

We’re sure you’ll be seeing big things from these guys, so don’t be that shmuck that kicks yourself for skipping their set to go to some open bar this week.

FRENCHKISS RECORDS SHOWCASE

For those of you that are prefer mustachioed men with that whole indie rock thing, you best be checking out the FrenchKiss showcase!

With a stellar lineup including Freelance Whales, Local Natives, An Horse, Suckers, and The Antlers, there is enough facial hair to go around, and some campy indie jams.

NEON TREES

Soon to be superstars, even if youve only seen their video for the ultra catchy “Animal” you have to see these guys.

We love them! Neon Trees and their furry faced bassist have taken a bite of our heart … We guess we’ll just have to go get it from them at their show!

BEAST

Canadian duo BEAST are so badass! With their trip-rock sound, they remind us of The White Stripes with a refreshing edge.

MATH THE BAND

We remember seeing theses guys years ago when they played matinees at The Middle East Upstairs in MA.

We are really stoked that the hyperactive bunch is still making music, and that they’re actually doing pretty well.

Extra points for repping their Allston, MA pride with some serious shrubbery on the face, cause everyone knows you’re not really an Allstonite if you actually shave.

  DAWES

These folky bluegrass dudes recently had an icredible, sold-out show at Bowery Ballroom, and with croons like these, we are for sure going to try and catch them at least once, and we reccomend you do too.

  COMPUTER CLUB

This dirty lipped DJ, who you may recognize as Gigantor from Evol Intent drops some pretty dope beats, and with a first ep, released only a few days ago, SXSW could be the perfect time for you to get your paws on this fresh, mustachioed heat!
