HILOVENEWYORK is an alternative to the NYC tourist experience. Curated by SLUTLUST PPP, this creative concept is a collection of vintage only a resident of the 5 boroughs can provide and doubles as an insider’s guide to the city. Instead of an itinerary of what you’ll find in a Lonely Planet Guidebook, followed by the average Canal Street souvenir, imagine going somewhere crazy that’s not in a tour book, having a great time with a bunch of locals, & leaving with their elementary school t-shirt. How much more would you love that shirt? The values are in the memories, and all great memories start with “Hi”.
Set in the East Village, “Here One Minute” is a gritty but honest documentation on the “Kids” of today. Enthralling without the sensationalism, the movie leaves no flaw unnoticed in this coming of a age tale. Despite the decades of distance between them, the unique team behind the film, (Writer, Director Eleanor Graver and Producer Schuyler Quinn) shared a commitment in capturing the raw soul of the city, it’s natives, and its volatile, and yet co dependent relationship to the art that surrounds us. What starts off as a documentary on street graffiti, Here One Minute turns into an intense pressure cooker of the complicated questions we ask out loud and the simple answers that truly define us in silence. Beautifully shot and in graphic detail, nothing here is glamorized.
Here One Minute is a gripping story of a group of city kids on the night they return home from their freshman year of college. When one of them leaves a party without saying goodbye, her friends deal with an unexplained tragedy by retracing her steps. In a culture where your name means everything and anyone can be anybody, they quickly find out that sometimes its best to read the writing on the walls.
Featuring music by Sarah Neufeld (Arcade Fire) The National, Dopo Yume, Dujeous, and a cameo by writer Jonathan Safran Foer (Everything Is illuminated, Extremely Loud Incredibly Close) this indie film showcases sex, substance abuse, and misbehavior with sophistication. Here One Minute is this generation’s cult classic.
Distributed by Gravitas Ventures, Here One Minute is currently available for pre-order on iTunes, and drops on June 10, 2016.
