DAILY STREAM: CAKED UP, Treasure Fingers, and Larry Gus! August 14, 2013 Edition!

Every day we receive a gazillion and one audio tunes and we can’t possibly feature them all … but it wouldn’t be fair to deprive your ears of their magic!

CAKED UP, consisting of DJ’s Oscar Wylde and Vegas Banger, have released their debut EP “FUX WIT IT,” and it’s unlike anything we’ve heard before. Imagine a A-Trak making hip hop, add in some signature Flosstradamus drops, Dillon Francis moombah and Diplo’s mixing skills, and you get “FUX WIT IT,” released last week via Ultragore Recordings.

Purveyor of feel good house music Treasure Fingers was inspired by the 80’s with his remix of Night Drive’sSea of Light.” Seems like he’s been taking the disco scene seeping out of Brooklyn, his current residence, to heart, considering the dreamy funkchillwave feel of this track.

Although it’s not our usual style, we’d like to share with you a sampler of Larry Gus’s new album, “Years Not Living.” To be released this month on DFA Records, the album has feel quite similar to old school Sufjan Stevens and James Murphy (of LCD Soundsystem), with it’s plethora of instrumentals, squeaky vocals and quick beats. Inspired by the rural environment of his hometown of Veria, Greece, Larry Gus’s new record is completely it’s own, and definitely worth a listen in our book.
