From painful drunken karaoke covers of “I Will Always Love You” (c’mon girl, you know you can’t hit those notes) to tactless dubstep remixes of “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” everyone’s been trying their hand at a Whitney tribute and, more often than not, everyone’s been getting it wrong. With the exception of Gordon Voidwell.

Voidwell’s new video for his swanky synth-pop single “XO Boyfriend” is a DIY shot-for-shot remake of the music video for Whitney Houston‘s 1991 smash, “How Will I Know?” that’s even more impressive when you consider that the vid was pulled together in just four days (unless they shot this video months ago and this was just a really crazy coincidence).
