If I had a cool chain like this I never would have thrown my retainer in the garbage after lunch… an unforgettable 5th grade experience — digging through stinky garbage in front of my entire class — to find my beloved retainer. Among the PB&J crusts, Dunkaroo boxes and carefully crafted sandwiches from home, it was lost forever.

If you had an experience as traumatizing as mine, this gold retainer necklace would be one of those things you just kind of have to own! Not nearly as weird as hanging your own old retainer on a chain and wearing it out in to dinner, this shiny and unusual "piece" recalls the more awkward years of life and the era of life after braces in a much sleeker way.
