Our blog haus party returns to Brooklyn this Friday and we are very excited to have UFFIE joining us to perform a Live PA. Plus she’ll be getting behind the decks with Alex English, Flying Horse, Jake B and guests to throw down blog haus jams by the likes of Justice, MSTRKRFT,  Chromeo, Soulwax, LCD Soundsystem, Breakbot, Tiga,  Cut Copy, Boys Noize, Spank Rock, Daft Punk, Fred Falke, Felix Da Housecat, Fake Blood, The Presets, Klaxons, Mr Oizo, Yelle, Sebastian, CSS, New Young Pony Club, Empire Of The Sun, Treasure Fingers, Fischerspooner, Franz Ferdinand, MGMT, Ratatat, Digitalism, Bloc Party, M.I.A., Ladyhawke, Scissor Sisters, Annie, The Gossip, Amanda Blank, Simian Mobile Disco, Miss Kittin, Bag Raiders, Hot Chip, Mylo, Alter Ego, Gorillaz, The Juan Maclean, Fred Falke, Holy Ghost!, A-Trak, Hercules & Love Affair among others.

From 2007 – 2009, the visceral, distorted synths, snarling disco bass-lines and the crunchy snares of electro (brought to us by artists such as Justice and MSTRKRFT) found itself sharing space with both the guitar-driven Disco-Punk movement (bands like The Rapture, LCD Soundsystem) and the subversively fashionable Electroclash scene (Scissor Sisters, Fischerspooner, Erol Alkan, Princess Superstar, Miss Kittin, Tiga). The different styles inevitably began to cross-pollinate, resulting in some of the best underground music in recent nightlife history. It was an era of seemingly boundless creativity, and it was clear to everyone involved that something special was happening. Bloggers feverishly exposed their audiences to one amazing new track after another after another, while aspiring djs quickly downloaded the music, and burned CDs to play at the club. Ticket prices were low, bands and DJs played for cheap and people came out to party. It almost didn’t matter whether the DJ was good or bad – the music was just exciting.

UFFIE was a standout artist in the scene. Launched into the world by Ed Banger Records with tracks like Pop The Glock and Ready To Uff, (produced by Mr. Oizo & Feadz), a string of awesome singles, a hit album and collaborations with the likes of Mehdi, Justice & Pharell. Now, after a hiatus, she has returned in 2017 with a feature on Charlie XCX’s Babygirl, a live performance at Hard Summer and plenty more stuff in the works. On Friday November 10, we’ll be bringing the vibe back to Brooklyn as we take over the main room of Schimanski – one our favorite spaces, with one of the best sound systems in the city. The response for this one has been amazing, and it’s shaping up to be a great night. See you there!
