It’s only September, but our neighbors to the North are already starting to freeze their tootsies off. You wouldn’t have known it last night though, as folks stripped their clothes left and right and sweat practically rained from the ceiling for the unforgettable (that is, for those who can remember it) Dim Mak Showcase presented by Hype Productions at Montreal’s Telus Theater.
Kid Aloha, Love Thy Brother, and AutoErotique warmed up the night with face-melting beats, but it was Steve Aoki who brought out the big guns (supersoakers, anyone?), destroying the room with crowd-pleasers like “Warp“, “I’m In the House“, and his roaring remix of Kid Cudi’s “Pursuit of Happiness“. And, of course, no Aoki rager would be complete without a Grey Goose dousing, an inflatable raft crowd-surf, and Moët showers. There’s a reason why he’s known worldwide, kids…
Sure, Montreal’s minus-zero temps are right around the corner, but we can’t think of a better way to stave-off the cold than some Dim Mak-induced heat.Â
