This is kind of a rare thing for me – I usually devote a mixtape to a very specific category of music … However this is kind of a combination of some popular stuff versus some darker deeper tunes. The thing that I struggle with the most as a deejay is keeping things interesting, and this is a good example of my desperation, hah. I try to educate people as much as i can with music, and avoid taking shortcuts to pleasure as far as getting off on the dancefloor with some stupid tunes we’ve all heard a million times. Conceptually, this mix is kind of a summoning – we’ve had the shittiest weather this summer so far, and in all its tropic vibe, with all the hand drums and horns, I hope these mix of tunes cast out the rain clouds and bring us all a little bit of the true paradisiac summer we all deserve.
