We’re really excited to be working with Jelly NYC and Top Shop at this years Pool Parties at McCarren Pool in Williamsburg (or is it technically Greenpoint? Does anyone know?)!
Rumors are constantly flying that the space will someday be returned to its original actual real life pool status and we’re pretty happy that it hasn’t happened yet.
The pool opened in 1936 and wiki claims that it had a capacity of 6,800 swimmers (gosh, thats a lot of public pool peeing).
The pool was abandoned in the early ’80s and even appeared in a terribly cliché chase seen of a bad action movie. Check out the clip:
