We had to check out of the hotel early-ish, and had a couple of hours to kill before we caught a train to hamburg. I wanted coffee. I need it to poop. I hadn’t had any in like 3 days, and I hadn’t had a full night of sleep since we left. We found some, and checked out the town…..
A lovely city. Very northern European.
It started to snow…
This is the kind of thing that keeps me alive.
We walked over to the neighborhood we played in, Christiania. It didn’t seem as weird during the day… but it’s still weird. The whole thing is walled off and full of old hippies.
Cops were making the hippies uncomfortable.
oops.
I’m learning to use my camera on this trip. My beautiful and lovely girlfriend, Danielle (youlovemymewzick.blogspot.com ), let me borrow hers for a while. My dad was a professional photographer when I was growing up, but I’ve always been afraid of taking pictures. I just found out that my camera can take pictures a lot of different ways… so the pictures will probably get better in the next few days.
There was a hole in the ground with a cage around it. To pee in. Kenny peed in it.
We took a train to Hamburg, where we were to meet the bus for the German tour. Kenny can always sleep in trains/cars/airplanes. The rest of us get jealous.
Whenever there is power outlets, and/or internet, you can pretty much guarantee that the apple mafia will be out.
I had to make a ghetto plug.
The train boarded onto a ferry…which is a really weird thing to me… but whateva. We had a bad ferry experience once on a ferry from Wales to Ireland. We’ve been weary of them ever since.
After 4 or 5 hours, we got to Hamburg. Our bus was a lot bigger than we had expected. And there are only going to be 7 or 8 people on it (it sleeps 14). It’s our first time on a double decker. I’ll give a bus tour later on this week.
We’ve traveled so much this week… It’s nice to feel like we have a home again. At least for a couple of weeks. It feels like the past week has consisted of plane/taxi/load in/play/load out/repeat. we have 4 guitars, a keyboard, 2 snares and a cymbal case in addition to our regular luggage. So it gets tricky doing it that way. Now we are sorted out.
We met Tilo tonight, who will be the stage manager for the German tour. Cool guy. We’ve already came up with a nickname. Tito, you know, like Tito Jackson of The Jackson Five. A very high honor. Though he might not think so.
