On the last tour I only took a duffle bag for all my clothes. It was a carry on. I’ve upgraded to a real suitcase AND a backpack (Jansport, represent!), and I couldn’t be more excited. I’m taking an extra pair of shoes this time, just in case, and enough socks and underwear to last me about a month… and books. i don’t own an iPod, and I never have (I am, however, SO excited for the iPhone). Sometimes reading is the only way to make it through a bunch of traveling.
We got into Dublin at 7am. It was only a 5 hour flight… not bad. We got to our hotel and got some rest. When i woke up it was dark. This is the street our hotel was on…
Besides having an awful sound check (and most of us playing through keyboard amps) the show was pretty fun.
It was a dingy underground sort of club.
The Irish like to have a good time. They danced…incredibly-
There was a DJ that played music after we were done.
These kids came all the way from Germany to see us in Dublin. Hopefully a sign of good things to come!
I’ve discovered that having a camera makes you so much more powerful than not having a camera. I would never walk up to someone and start a conversation, but with a camera, people just walk up to you and ask if they can have a picture. No wonder NickyDigital is such a babe magnet.
Well, here we are again. Leaving. It’s a weird life we lead… since September we’ve only been home for a week or two. This is the view from our roof.
So we went back to our hotel, popped some sleeping pills and got some rest before our flight to london the next morning.
I love our roof. When we first moved here I used to drink coffee and read up there every morning. I don’t anymore. For the same reason I don’t ride my bike anymore. It’s too friggin cold. Whaddaya gonna do…
I’m glad we live here, even if we are never here. I first heard about New York when I was in elementary school in Boise, ID. my geography teacher told me that it was dirty and dangerous, and full of bums and black people and drug addicts. I knew I had to live in NY as soon as possible. It’s the only city I’ve been to that doesn’t bore me after a week. That’s the worst part about living anywhere, knowing that there is somewhere that is less boring than where you are. Anyway, we’re leaving for a tour. This one is only a month, overseas. Our flight is overnight to Dublin, and I’ve got sleeping pills.
The show tonight was a Club NME show. The show in london will be too…
These girls bought me my first Irish Guinness.
Adam got one too.
We hungout in the backstage a lil’, which was actually an apartment down the street. There were a ton of parties happening, but I think we were all too tired and disoriented from flying…and besides, parties are boring when you are broke.
This is me making my scrunchie face!
Sleeping pills and beers are a great combo!
