Every day we receive a gazillion and one audio tunes and we can’t possibly feature them all … but it wouldn’t be fair to deprive your ears of their magic!
CAKED UP, consisting of DJ’s Oscar Wylde and Vegas Banger, have released their debut EP “FUX WIT IT,” and it’s unlike anything we’ve heard before. Imagine a A-Trak making hip hop, add in some signature Flosstradamus drops, Dillon Francis moombah and Diplo’s mixing skills, and you get “FUX WIT IT,” released last week via Ultragore Recordings.
Purveyor of feel good house music Treasure Fingers was inspired by the 80′s with his remix of Night Drive’s “Sea of Light.” Seems like he’s been taking the disco scene seeping out of Brooklyn, his current residence, to heart, considering the dreamy funk, chillwave feel of this track.
Although it’s not our usual style, we’d like to share with you a sampler of Larry Gus’s new album, “Years Not Living.” To be released this month on DFA Records, the album has feel quite similar to old school Sufjan Stevens and James Murphy (of LCD Soundsystem), with it’s plethora of instrumentals, squeaky vocals and quick beats. Inspired by the rural environment of his hometown of Veria, Greece, Larry Gus’s new record is completely it’s own, and definitely worth a listen in our book.
They say the past determines the future, and what would the future be without disco?
Fortunately, Classixx is renewing those sweet disco riffs with the recent release of their newest single, “Holding On.” Michael David and Tyler Blake of Classixx have already thrown down many fanciful remixes, like Lizstomania by Phoenix and Cash Flow by Major Lazer, and now we are pleased to announce the twosome’s debut album, Hanging Gardens!
Out on May 14th through Innovative Leisure, the LA-based label behind groups like Crystal Antlers and Superhumanoids, Hanging Gardens will feature a dozen poppy, danceable tracks (track list below) and collabs with the likes of Nancy Whang of LCD Soundsystem as well as Active Child.
Hanging Gardens track list:
1. Hanging Gardens
2. All You’re Waiting For
3. Holding On
4. Rhythm Santa Clara
6. A Fax From The Beach
7. Long Lost
8. A Stranger Love
9. I’ll Get You
11. Jozi’s Fire
Take a listen to their first single off of Hanging Gardens and some classic Classixx remixes and get excited!!!

GET INTO IT:
THIS IS AN ALL-MEOW COVER OF LCD SOUNDSYSTEM‘S “DANCE YRSELF CLEAN” AND THAT IS REALLY ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW.
God bless the internet!!!
Yes, LCD Soundsystem‘s This Is Happening, was, purportedly, their final studio album, but it’s time to dry your eyes, little ones!
Next Tuesday, November 9th, James Murphy and the gang will be releasing a career-spanning album of live-in-studio performances of their biggest hits, entitled The London Sessions.
A few minutes ago, MTV.com premiered the glitzy new video for LCD Soundsystem‘s disco-funk hit “Pow Pow,” starring Oscar-nominee Anna Kendrick. However, this was no ordinary video. This was the first of potentially many in a new breed of music video: the Supervideo!
No, your eyes do not deceive you. According to an article today on NY Mag’s blog, MTV has created the “Supervideo” in an attempt to resurrect the popularity of the music video (you know, those things that MTV built their business on before all the orange tans and GTLing?).
