WHY YOU SHOULD CARE: Have you heard of the newest EDM subgenre, “Donkey Sauce”? How about “Portobello”? The creative mastermind behind these odd genres is Jonathan Kane, or Shreddie Mercury, a 22 year-old electro-house, ahem, “Frog House” producer from a place you’ve probably never been to before. Although he’s produced music for only a short time, Shreddie has already opened for Major Lazer and Flosstradamus in CoMO last year, won a Beatport remix contest for Zedd’s “Spectrum” that was released on Interscope Records, and has been touring in the Northeast and Florida with Infected Mushroom and The M Machine. His Twitter may not be verified yet, but could you ignore someone who will change your life with a Beyoncé remix, or whose handle is @Shredlobster? We didn’t think so.
