FREE MIX TAPE: La Royale’s Pre Party Jamz Volume 142

This edition of our Pre Party Jamz Mix Tape series comes to via Mexico City wunderkind and Electrique Records label manager La Royale. Born in 1990 (yes, young people like disco music too), he loves cats, drum machines and his SH101.

As if that wasn’t exciting enough, LA Royale is in town to play a slew of gigs surrounding his remixes on the new LLOYDSKI single “Go to Sleep” on that just dropped on Dither Down records!

La Royale on his mix:

I don´t spin a lot besides of my residences in what I think are the best clubs in the Mexican circuit, but when I do, I will always try to find those tracks with that special sound that you will always remember, that hook, or noise, or bassline, I don´t care but it has to be something that makes that track really special.

When I’m playing my live act, that consists of analog synths, a microphone and Ableton Live, I always keep it simple, atmospheric and interesting, with some trippy Spanish vocals, but never losing the background groove that keeps your head shaking and your feet contracting with each other, it´s harder when your only weapons are some CD decks or vinyls, but that´s my challenge in the DJ Mode. To achieve what a good live show can do, turning the songs into one big cohesive thing that you lose yourself in.

About Lloydski:
Already in high demand due to his immensely popular NYC parties, including Brooklyn’s Tiki Disco and the weekly Night People at Le Bain at the Standard, Lloydski is now applying that earned NYC style and swagger to his own original productions..

Lloydski’s debut single on Dither Down Records, “Go To Sleep,” is a late night plea for sanity. Produced by Lloyd along with help from Dither Don Tim Wagner (33Hz), “Go To Sleep” is a playful, downtempo, electro disco track that recalls early 80s italo and new wave while being a thoroughly modern affair.
